MINDSET MASTERY
The heightof your aim is correlated w/ your mindset. Our emotions can be conditioned. Scrolling on social media is realy just emotional and mental conditioning. It’s conditioning you to be more judgemental, prideful, etc.
Instead of saying you’re consuming media, say that media is conditioning you. Based on my current mindset & habits, how likely am I to achieve my goals?
People don’t want to talk about achievements because they don’t have any.
If it’s always you vs them or playing the constant comparison game, then that can become poisonous quickly.
The way we see the world, our lens – is dynamic. Imagine a v diagram with 3 labels: Self, Social & God. Daily conditioning is important because your lens is dynamic. Your mindset is like a pet, it needs constant care.
Social: If you view yourself positive, but others negative – that will negatively impact you. Is your current mindset helping your marriage? Your relationship with your kids?
Intent. If you think others dislike you, it will negatively impact your intentions or performance for an event. **How could I improve the perception that others have of me at Dobson Ranch Toastmasters? Wear a suit. Show up 15 minutes early.**
Does the world have a positive or negative intent for you? According to Einstein, the most important decision for you to make is whether the universe is friendly or not to you.
Wha’s my intention in this? What’s their intention? What’s God’s intention?
Intelligence is more well-rounded than just school scores. How can I increase my IQ? How intelligent do I view myself? In what domains do I specialize? People are not just smart or dumb, we’re far more complicated than that.
Your mindset gets better if you connect better w/ others. If you’re not having a positive relationship, then you’re having a mindset problem.
If you want high skill & earnings, you need to re-train your mindset regarding people. Think thoughts like: “Conecting with other people is fun and I’ll learn something from this interaction.”
If you dislike people, where will that mindset take you?
Do you feel like you have control over your life? Wisdom is knowing what you can and can’t control. You can’t control outcomes, but you can control your intentions.
I believe we can develop our capabilities. Do I see the world getting better or worse?
